My first memories of yoga were of watching my mother in sirshasana, headstand. As children, we would watch her through the bedroom window, giggling, at her upside down! She encouraged my brother and I to learn a few “animal” poses, lion, (simhasana) eagle, (garudasana) and locust (salabhasana) which we both still practice today. So I find myself now, years later, having studied yoga, with a deeper understanding of it’s true meaning, sharing the benefits of yoga with others as a teacher.
Yoga is an amazing, complete form of exercise that everyone can do. It is meditation in motion, connecting the body and mind with the breath. Yoga is not competitive. It is a mindful, individual journey that allows you to still the mind, open the heart and just be in the moment.
I look forward to sharing my continuing experiences of yoga with you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or email me.
Namaste,
Elizabeth
